Medicare Supplement Insurance is a Medigap policy used to fill the “gaps” in Original Medicare Plan coverage. These policies are sold by private insurance companies to help pay some of the health cost that the original Medicare Plan does not cover. There are up to 12 different standardized Medigap policies. Also available are Medicare Advantage (MA) plans, Private Fee For Service (PFFS) plans and Medicare Part D (Prescription Drug plans).
